Golconda Fort listed as one of the most humongous fortresses in India, the name originates from the Telugu words ‘Golla Konda’, which means ‘Shepherd’s Hill’. Located in the southern part of the city, the fort is famous for acoustics, palaces, majestic halls and mounted canon ‘Fateh Rahben’ gun which was used in the last siege of Golconda by Aurangzeb. A light and sound show takes place in the evening and is a must-see for the tourists as it depicts the history of the fort.
